How the photo collage editor, the long image stitcher and the other tools actually work — every control, every limit, and what changes with Pro.

Open a tool
Use the photo collage editor for grids and free layouts, or the long image stitcher for screenshots and chats. The switch at the top of the editor moves between the two.

Add photos
Click an empty cell, drag files onto the canvas, or use Add photos. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all open. Photos are decoded in your browser and never uploaded.

Pick a layout and style it
Choose a preset layout, start from a scene template, build your own grid or switch to free layout. Then set the ratio, spacing, corners, border and background.

Export
Choose resolution and format, check the estimated file size, then download the image or copy it to the clipboard.
Photo collage editor
The collage editor has two boards: a grid, where every photo sits in a cell, and a free layout, where photos can go anywhere. Settings are split into Canvas, Style and Watermark panels, and the selected photo gets its own panel.
Layouts and templates
- 140+ preset layouts for 1 to 16 photos. When you add photos the editor picks a layout that fits the count; choosing one yourself keeps it.
- 70+ scene templates — everyday, social, commerce, life and seasonal — that open with colours, a title and a layout already in place.
- Custom grid builder: set up to 8 × 8 cells and merge neighbouring cells into larger slots.
- Artistic layouts, merged custom grids and some templates are Pro. You can try them on the canvas; only the export asks for an upgrade.
Free layout
- Drag a photo to move it, pull a corner to resize, use the top handle to rotate.
- Shift-, Ctrl- or ⌘-click to select several items; Delete removes the selection.
- The Tools panel adds a pen, lines, shapes, sticky notes, tables and a signature pad for annotation.
Adjusting a photo
- Cover fills the cell and crops the edges; Contain shows the whole photo. Set it for the canvas, or override it per photo.
- Drag inside a cell or use the arrow keys to move the crop; the crop tool trims to exact edges.
- Zoom from 0.1× to 3×, rotate 0–360°, flip horizontally or vertically, and set opacity.
- Filters: one-tap presets plus brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia, blur and hue sliders.
- Pro: remove a photo's background on-device, directly inside the collage.
Canvas and style
- One-tap ratios for Instagram (1:1, 4:5, Story 9:16), Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Douyin, Pinterest, 4:3, 16:9 and 1.91:1 link previews. Custom ratios are Pro.
- Spacing between cells, outer padding, corner radius, border width and colour, and shadow.
- Background: solid colour, gradient presets or transparent. Using a photo as the background is Pro.
- Text layers with font, colour, size, bold, stroke and shadow presets — including Chinese font families — plus stickers.
- Watermark: free exports carry a tiled "Made with Collage Pro" mark. Pro removes it or replaces it with your own text, font, position, opacity and rotation.
Long image stitcher
Joins screenshots end to end into one tall or wide image — chat logs, tutorials, reports, product walkthroughs.
- Stitch vertically or horizontally. Drag thumbnails to reorder; files picked together are added in the order you selected them.
- Size mode: keep each image's original width, or scale everything to one width so screenshots line up with no side gaps.
- Spacing between images, outer padding and background colour.
- Redact: draw boxes over names, numbers or faces before exporting. It happens in your browser.
- Professional screenshot mode (Pro): removes repeated status, navigation and bottom bars and finds where screenshots overlap. Every seam can be adjusted by hand. Vertical stitches only.
- Split the result into equal pieces or post-sized slides, downloaded as a ZIP ready to post in order.
- Free stitches take up to 5 images and export JPG with a watermark. Pro removes the cap and adds PNG and WebP. Very long exports are limited by device memory — the stitcher warns before an export gets too large.
Exporting
Everything is rendered on your device at the size you pick, so exports are as sharp as your source photos allow.
JPG
Smallest for photo-heavy collages; quality is adjustable. No transparency. Available on the free plan.
PNG
Lossless. Best for text, screenshots, logos and transparent backgrounds; largest files. Pro in the collage editor and stitcher.
WebP
Smaller than JPG at similar quality and supports transparency. Pro in the collage editor and stitcher.
- Resolution multiplier: 1× / 2× free, up to 4× with Pro for print and high-density screens.
- Quality slider from 10% to 100% for JPG and WebP, with a live estimate of the file size. Around 90% is the usual balance.
- Copy to clipboard to paste straight into a chat, document or design tool.
- Empty cells are exported as plain background; the editor tells you how many are left before you download.
- Multi-size batch export (Pro): render the same collage in several platform ratios in one click.
- Animated GIF (Pro): export the collage with a fade-in or Ken Burns motion for Stories and Reels.
Saving, privacy and offline use
Nothing is uploaded
Decoding, editing, background removal and export all run in your browser. Your photos are not sent to Collage Pro servers.
Project library
Save a collage as an editable project in this browser (IndexedDB), then open, duplicate or save a copy later. Clearing site data deletes it, so export finished work.
Autosaved draft
The editor restores your last session when you come back. If you start something new, the previous work is kept in the library as an autosaved draft.
Undo and redo
Every layout, photo and style change can be undone and redone from the toolbar or the keyboard.
Brand kit
Save the current background, border colours and watermark as a reusable kit and apply it to new collages in one click.
Install as an app
Collage Pro can be installed as a web app. Pages you have visited keep working offline; on Android you can share photos to it directly, and supporting desktops list it under Open with.

Shortcuts work in the collage editor whenever the cursor is not in a text field.

Pro is sold as a single-export credit or as a monthly, quarterly or yearly pass. Card payments are subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel; Alipay and WeChat Pay are one-time payments with no renewal. A credit is only used when an export actually uses a paid feature.

Frequently asked questions
What image formats are supported?
Collage Pro opens JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos. For best results, upload the original or highest-resolution files available. Collages export as JPG on the free plan; Pro adds PNG and WebP.
Will images be uploaded to servers?
No. Collage creation, cropping, zooming, rotation, and export all run locally in your browser. Your image data is not uploaded to Collage Pro servers. Export or save a local project before refreshing or switching browsers.
What is the quality of exported images?
Export quality depends on canvas size, source image resolution, export format, and quality settings. PNG is best for crisp text and hard edges, while JPG and WEBP are practical for photo-heavy layouts. Free exports are JPG at 1× or 2×; Pro adds PNG, WebP and 3×/4×. For social publishing, keep quality at 90% or higher.
Can I save my designs?
Yes. Use the local Project Library to save editable collages in your current browser with IndexedDB, then continue adjusting images, layouts, and styles later. Collage Pro does not upload your images to cloud storage, so export finished work before clearing browser data.
Does it support mobile devices?
Yes. Collage Pro is responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktop browsers. Mobile is great for quick layouts and exports; larger multi-image projects are usually easier on a tablet or desktop.
What's the maximum number of images that can be stitched?
Photo collage mode supports up to 16 images in a single layout. Long image stitching takes up to 5 images per stitch on the free plan and has no fixed limit with Pro, where very large projects depend on device memory; for stable exports, keep each stitch under 50 images.
Can I use Collage Pro for free?
Yes. Core collage, long-image stitching, basic editing, and export features are free with no sign-up required. Free collage exports are JPG at 1× or 2× with a small tiled watermark. Pro removes the watermark and adds PNG and WebP, 3×/4× resolution, Pro layouts and templates, unlimited long-image stitching and multi-size export. It is sold as a single export or a time-limited pass, with no account.
Which languages is it available in?
The homepage, editor, articles, tool pages, and docs are available in English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French, which is helpful for multilingual teams and creators publishing to global platforms.
What kinds of collages can I create?
You can create social media grids, product multi-angle showcases, travel collections, event recaps, portfolio boards, tutorial screenshots, long chat screenshots, and before-and-after comparisons. Start from templates or adjust ratio, spacing, radius, background, and image positioning manually.
How can I avoid blurry exports?
Start with sharp source images and avoid stretching low-resolution photos into large frames. Set the canvas size to the pixel width required by your target platform before exporting. Use PNG (Pro) for layouts with text, logos, or screenshots, and high-quality JPG or WEBP for photo-heavy collages.
Can I use it for commercial content or client delivery?
Yes. Collage Pro can be used for product images, branded content, client presentations, and marketing assets. Make sure you have the rights to use uploaded photos, logos, fonts, and materials; Collage Pro handles editing and export, not copyright or licensing review.
Do I need to install software or create an account?
No. Open the web app and start creating without installing desktop software or signing in for core features. If you need cross-device sync or cloud backup, export your images and keep any source assets separately.
