About this tool
The Chinese 1-inch photo (一寸) is 25×35 mm, which is 295×413 pixels at 300 DPI. Many online registration systems validate against those pixel dimensions directly, so a photo that is the wrong size is the single most common reason an upload fails.
Background colour depends on the use. White is the safe default and is accepted for CVs, staff cards and most forms; blue is common for academic records; red appears for things like marriage registration. The tool replaces the background with an on-device cutout, so switching colour takes seconds and does not need a second photo session.
File size is the other recurring problem. Systems often cap uploads between 20 KB and 100 KB, and a high-quality JPEG at 295×413 usually lands above that. Hand the export to the image compressor with a target size and it will meet the cap without visible damage at this resolution.

Frequently asked questions
How many pixels is a 1-inch photo?
295×413 at 300 DPI, which is the value nearly all registration systems expect. A few ask for 344×482 at 350 DPI; change the DPI setting in the tool for those.
Does my original photo need a plain background?
No. The background replacement cuts the subject out on your device and paints the colour behind it, so an ordinary photo works. Hair edges can be refined in the cutout panel.
The file is too large to upload. What now?
After exporting, choose "Continue in another tool" and send it to the image compressor with the cap as the target size. At this resolution the difference is not visible.
